Tarot Card - The Chariot VII

On the card of the Rider Waite tarot you will see a person standing inside a chariot and being dragged by two sphinxes, a black and a white one. He wears armour to protect himself from the outside world.

He is sitting under a blue canopy with white stars. On his shoulders you see the crescent moon (intuition). The wand in his right hand means he knows how to use his willpower in life. Does he want to rule, or not. He symbolizes the connection between heaven and earth. On the front of the Chariot you see an emblem of a toll or the top of a sword. This is the connection with Archangel Michael, for protection and truth, the energy of the sun.

His crown represents higher powers. Which thoughts are you experiencing, and which ones to you listen to. On his chest is a square symbol, the cube, which is symbolizing earth, the will and ego. It's also about heart's desires beginning to take form, if these thoughts are grounded firmly in the earth (taking action). His shield reflects the sun, to overthink what he has already learned in life.

The lower side of the Chariot is a stone cube, which makes it even more grounding. It shows that he needs to look beyond earthly life (ego) and focus to the heavens, the higher powers (canopy). The Chariot is riding over water, which is symbolic to conquer your emotions. And to find balance.

The black and white sphinx each want to go their own way (yin/yang), he needs to pay attention to control the Chariot. He doesn't have any reins. Its a symbol for duality and that you can't control everything in life. This card is responding to the solar plexus chakra; the Will. The titel of the Chariot can be misleading, because the ideals of the ego need to be fulfilled. Material gain, success.

The number 7 is for luck, and victory in this card. But also for the spiritual journey. 7 is a holy number. It's for ancient wisdom, alchemy, spiritual abilities, and spiritual awakening. Also for the 7 chakras. It's all about going within, and finding the truth within yourself.

General:
The Chariot can be interpreted as a positive card, depending on the other cards in the spread. It's about victory, to be proud of yourself. Please beware not to get too arrogant. Stay humble. It can mean you will travel soon. Or the spiritual journey within. The Chariot is all about the adult and taking responsibility for your own life.

Work:
It's a very positive card and says that you have already accomplished a lot. You will persevere and can achieve a lot of success. Be careful not to get too confident. You are still learning.

Love:
Usually this card appears in a reading when you have just ended your relationship. It reminds you of difficult times, but also that you have conquered a lot already. You feel stronger now. Please take the time to process your emotions, and don't have any fear to be alone for a while. Don't waste energy on partners that are not up to your level, of want to achieve the same goals in life.
Of course this card can also represent a new beginning in a relationship. It reminds you to not be madly in love, but to also use your mind. Also, don't close off your emotions too much, because of trauma you have experienced in the past.

In an existing relationship it could mean that you are experiencing a hard time right now. Perhaps you have grown apart. Of you have found different goals in life. Please try to figure out if there still is a future for the two of you, so you can grow closer.
