Tarot Card The Empress III

Tarot Card The Empress III.  The Empress is the Goddess, the Creator, life, pregnancy and birth. She symbolizes the circle of life. She is for unconditional love, beauty, female power. She cherishes and protects.

The number 3 is for the holy trinity in all religions. From balance between the male- and female energies, a new beginning or birth can come into existence.

The Empress is often pictured with a sceptre in her hand, on the end of the sceptre there is a sphere. This sphere is symbolizing the earth, because she is the Earth Goddess. She wears a crown with 12 stars. It has been said that these 12 stars represent the 12 zodiac signs.

The Empress is very relaxed and she lives in abundance. She is also connected to Venus, the planet of Love, and motherhood. She learns you that there is no shortages in life. Everything is in bloom, and it's a very positive card. It often shows pregnancy, or a new phase in life.

In the Crowley tarot, the Empress is pictured with a blue lotus flower in her right hand; the lotus of Isis, the lotus symbolizing female and passive energy. The lotus flower has to go through all elements, before she can bloom, before she can open herself to the sun, the lotus represents growth and wisdom.

There are two moons in the card, which are also turned blue flames. This is the throne the Empress is sitting on. The pelican is shown with her young, she feeds them with blood from her heart, symbolizing motherhood and devotion. The white double-headed eagle is a symbol for insight, transformation and rebirth.

The sparrow and dove are sitting on the pillars. The Empress turns away from the sparrow, representing passion and gluttony. She turns to the dove to Holy energy, as the dove is later turned into the dove of the holy spirit.
