Tarot Card – The Hanged Man XII.

Tarot Card – The Hanged Man XII. The Hanged Man is the 12th card of the Major Arcana. The number 12 contains number 1; the male energy, and number 2; the female energy, together they are number 3; the Holy Trinity (child) or new beginning. The number 3 is of course a holy number in many religions. It's the creative number, and it’s for self-expression and rebirth.

If you look at the image of The Hanged Man in the Rider Waite tarot, it's a weird card to most people, with a man hanging upside down. It reminds of a crucified man. One foot is tied to the tree branch, the tree is the symbol of the world we live in. The tree is in contact with Mother Earth and the Heavens. Symbolizing again the conscious and subconscious. His other foot is free, the man is relaxed. His legs are in the shape of the number 4 (earthly suffering). And his arms are the symbol of a triangle (number 3 - the Divine).

The man is hanging here out of his own free will, to see life from a different perspective. His red pants are supposed to represent human passion, but can also be interpreted as the ego. The blue shirt is representing knowledge. The yellow shoes and hair the intellect, and the halo gaining insights, but also Awareness and Enlightenment. The ego sacrifices itself, to become enlightened.

General:
The Hanged Man reminds you to take a time-out, to surrender and to gain new insights in life. You are not powerless, but sometimes it's good to evaluate your life. Listen to your intuition and to let go of the ego that is holding you back. Sometimes you are trying to force things, but this isn't working.

Career:
You feel like you are being stuck, projects are not going the way they should, you are not being promoted, and you are starting to doubt yourself. Sometimes you will need times like these, to show you that you need a different approach. Be patient, you can't force things to happen.

Love:
It's not a very positieve to have for your love life. It represents a standstill. Difficulties are a part of life. Think carefully about what you want in life. And if your partner isn't prepared to grow and evolve with you, or to be invested in this relationship, is he/she the right one for you?

Sometimes this card represents a difficult love relationship, like you have fallen inlove with someone else, or your soulmate is running away from his feelings. Your life is upside down, and now is the time to go within, to find the answers. You can't force others to change, but you can however learn from this situation.
