Nurture vs Nature

Both nature and nurture create a psychic. But in a much more complicated way than you might suppose, for nurture is not necessarily the word I would use to describe all legitimate psychic’s upbringings. I realized in my last blog that I’d made the mistake before of thinking of two separate groups of psychics, when in fact they are the same group, and this is a mistake I want to atone for today.

Born psychics and psychics who develop their talents in later life. These are the two groups I’ve made the mistake too many times of separating, when in fact; they are by nature and nurture psychics all along. Every single one is born with gifts, but some take a little longer to get there. A great example is a lawyer who decides one day after a decade or two she wants her medical degree, and she goes to get it and excels after acquiring the skills she needs to complete professional practice. Some psychics take the same path, but most will work in some form of counseling or healthcare before they actually enter the arena of professional reading. I only have theories as to why this is, mine being that they need to know about physical pain, and not just the emotional and mental trauma we encounter day to day.

Psychics also need to toughen up. There are few better ways than to be involved in counseling or another form of healthcare in which heartbreaking stories play out every day that most people aren’t aware of. This plays into my theory because no one comes to a psychic in good times. While it’s true each client is different, I’ve never had one consult me who was having their best day ever. Instead, there are a number of problems to be worked out, and they’d like to know what comes next so they can adequately face them.
I don’t mean to imply you get used to or accustomed to misery. But that’s not the point. The point is to be able to be empathetic without dissolving into a puddle of tears or depression because of the difficult situation your client is facing. Like a Code Blue in a hospital setting, there will be emergencies your clients face. With the ‘additional training’ psychics receive, they are calm and ready to be of service without being overwhelmed or jarred out of their usual calm demeanor when an emergency situation does arrive.

While nature provides a psychic with their gifts, nurture usually lacks quite a bit. Science has actually backed this up by showing that people raised in traumatic, cold, or chaotic environments have more empathy than those who grew up in better circumstances. Certainly this is the type of upbringing my colleagues and I have had, but we bear no ill will towards such circumstances, knowing they were provided to ensure that one day; we would have the understanding necessary from enduring such circumstances to read for you.
All psychics, regardless of if they use their gifts professionally, develop them early or later in life, or use them at all, have one thing in common with you: their hard work in life contributes towards their purpose for living.
